Hockey

The Selwyn Hockey Club, established in 1910 is one of the oldest clubs within the Canterbury area and is affiliated to the Riccarton Club. The Club caters for players of all ages and in all grades, from juniors up to seniors, both turf and grass players alike.

The Club covers the area in the south west of the city, although it does have players that come from all areas within the city. The Club also has players in their ranks that come from outside the city area, like Rangiora, Oxford and Rolleston just to name a few.

The Club uses a number of turf training facilities within the city area, such as Porritt Park, Rangi Ruru Girl’s School and St. Margaret’s College.

The Selwyn Hockey Club welcomes any new players and/or supporters to join the clubs ever growing ranks. Anyone interested in joining the club should contact a member of the Executive Committee (details on their “Contacts” page).
