After nearly sixteen years based at the Riccarton Club, Marist Albion Rugby Club (MARC) have hit the road and moved to other premises.
MARC will play its senior games at South Hagley Park. They are looking at options for their other games.
MARC will have their after match drinks and their functions at the Papanui Bowling Club, so we won’t be seeing the players around Riccarton Club at all this winter. We wish MARC all the very best at their new venue.
Marist Albion Rugby Club is an open club offering membership to all drawing on no specific geographical area but on a population city-wide. The club has up to five feeder schools and a large number of primary schools for our junior club, many which return on leaving school.
The Club encourages long term participation and enjoyment, including golden oldies teams. Overseas players are often hosted for a season or more to develop their game either at Division 1 or age group level. Marist Albion has been renowned over the years for promoting an expansive open style of running rugby leading to regular top-four placings.
Above all else, Marist Albion is an amateur rugby club operating for the benefit of those players in our community who share similar values and interests. It recognises the need to respect the special character of the Catholic and Christian interests of our Club, and encourages individuals to maximise their potential and provide a stimulating and enjoyable social environment to all our members.
